The UN Women Leaders Network, in partnership with the Government of Iceland and the UN Foundation, cordially invites you to attend their side event during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly: 

 Women’s Leadership for Peace  

 Date: Friday, 26 September 2025 
Time: 11:00 – 12:30 p.m. (arrival from 10:45 a.m.) 
Venue: Convene, etc. venues, 601 Lexington Avenue, New York (Market 3 & 4)

 As we commemorate thirty years since the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and mark the 25th anniversary of Security Council Resolution 1325, this side event will highlight the indispensable role of women leaders in advancing peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and crisis response. 

The event will feature opening remarks from Sima Bahous, Executive Director of UN Women, followed by a panel discussion featuring distinguished speakers from the UN Women Leaders Network – a global intergenerational and intersectional group of high-level women leaders advocating for gender-equal participation in leadership and decision-making – who will bring their diverse perspectives and rich experience to this timely discussion.
