Alliance for Peacebuilding and Refugees International for a hybrid event marking the one-year anniversary of the conflict in Sudan. The conflict has left nearly 25 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, displaced more than eight million inside and outside of the country, and disproportionately affected women and girls. 

The event will feature opening remarks and a moderated discussion with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield and U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello, followed by a panel of Sudanese women leaders to explore the gendered impacts of the conflict, the role of women’s leadership in the face of the crisis and opportunities for their influence on the peace process and the future of the country.
